NEWS: Emergent Raises $70 Million to Expand No-Code Software Development for Businesses

AI startup Emergent has raised $70 million in a Series B funding round led by SoftBank Vision Fund and Khosla Ventures, marking a major milestone for the Indian-born software application company. The round follows a $23 million Series A just four months prior, backed by Lightspeed Venture Partners, Prosus, and Google’s AI Futures Fund.
Emergent, co-founded by Mukund Jha (formerly of Dunzo) is rapidly gaining traction, boasting over 5 million users and $50 million in annual recurring revenue within just seven months of launch. The company is focused on transforming how software is created and monetized, with tools that empower users to build applications without traditional coding barriers.
Vinod Khosla, founder of Khosla Ventures, emphasized Emergent’s long-term potential: “Emergent is early in shaping how software gets created and monetized over the next decade.”
The new capital will fuel expansion of Emergent’s research and engineering teams in San Francisco and Bengaluru, and accelerate development of its AI coding agents. Jha noted growing interest from users eager to build businesses atop Emergent’s platform, calling the democratization of software creation “a massive trend.”
This funding signals renewed investor confidence in India’s AI startup ecosystem and in Emergent’s vision for the future of software development.
